A BOURNEMOUTH pub with a rebrand and something different to offer every night, is the Daily Echo’s Pub of the Week.
The Triangle Taproom (formerly known as Poole Hill Brewery) offers a range of alcoholic beverages and a warm atmosphere.
The pub is well known for its wild live music events such as jazz nights and folk tunes.
The taproom also offers a built-in cinema available to rent for customers.
Owner Jennifer Tingay said: “We took over at the end of September and it is a 100% independent local business with it operates mainly as a music venue with a cinema and a brewery.
“We host live musical events which start with a free dancing lesson before we have our weekly Mardi Blues Club where we invite musicians from over the south of England.
“No night is the same and we take pride in that.
The pub has big plans to extend its musical base for residents, Jennifer added: “We have various acts and coming up in 2025 we have a blues artist from Estonia who's on UK tour and potentially the Chris Jagger band next year as well.
“Saturday night is a party night, so rock, pop, cover bands and Sundays are our Sunday sounds, which we have music in the afternoon which is quite nice.
“We have complete range of customers because of the different types of music we have, We have a lot of female customers, which is unusual for pubs and the ages can range from as young as 18 to as old as 80.
“There’s also quite a lot of students from the universities coming along on the jazz nights, which is quite surprising.”
With the current climate, Jennifer would like to reinforce the importance of supporting your local watering hole: “We love this pub but the nighttime industry is really suffering and that's what Bournemouth has been known for.
“It was always known for having loads of great pubs and nightclubs and drawing people into the town for that.
“But it's really suffering along with nightclubs around the country and with the budget coming up. It's been harder than usual. We need local residents not being scared of the town.”
The Triangle Taproom is located on Poole Hill, Bournemouth.
