AN OPEN top bus tour celebrating the achievements of athletes from the BCP area who took part in the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games will take place today.
Bryony Page (gold medal trampoline gymnast), Izzy Songhurst (trampoline gymnast), Jack Eyers (Paralympic Canoe, silver medallist), Leo McCrea (Paralympic swimming, gold medallist) and Matt Aldridge (rowing bronze medallist) will take part.
Residents are invited to wave from their doorsteps or join at leisure centres along the way.
The celebration kicks off at Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre at 10.15am, where they will meet supporters before boarding the bus to embark on their journey through the area.
The tour will call at Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre at approximately 12.05pm before arriving at Rossmore Leisure Centre at around 1.55pm, where there will be a short closing ceremony to thank the athletes, finishing around 3.05pm.
Residents can attend, take pictures or grab autographs from the sporting legends at the BCP leisure centres.
This event is being delivered by BCP Council in partnership with Morebus.
