DR MARTIN Rodger is deeply concerned because the two contenders for the Conservative leadership are not as committed to climate change goals as he would like. (Echo, 23 October).
Robert Jenrick planning on scrapping the 2008 Climate Change Act and Kemi Badenoch rolling back environmental laws is music to my ears because it is a very wise and sensible thing to do.
The whole country has got climate change fatigue, apart of course, from those who are, like Dr Rodger, treating climate change like some kind of religion.
I was glad Navitus Bay was scrapped, again, because nobody wanted it apart from a minority so it needs to be consigned to history, it is a no goer.
It really needs to be laid to rest.
While Reform UK do, indeed, oppose climate change, it is refreshing to see another party willing to adopt a more sensible approach to the obscene amount of money and time thrown it from the main parties at the moment.
While pensioners freeze due to Rachel Reeves and her cutting of fuel allowances, meanwhile how much is Ed Miliband throwing at climate change and his Energy UK? How much is being thrown at active travel and doling out money for cycle lanes?
Beggars belief doesn’t it.
Other parties need to sit up and take note. I for one will be voting for the Conservatives the next election if they promise an end to climate change and green agendas taking over everything as I am fed up with climate change obsession being thrust down everybody’s throats every day, but a more measured and sensible approach is what we need, not rampant zealotry.
