A NATIONAL pet holiday sparked a region-wide campaign to rehome some furry felines.

October 27 marks National Black Cat Day, a day that was created by Cats Protection to celebrate the species of black cats.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue celebrated the day by showcasing its current black cat inhabitants at its Church Knowle rescue centre looking to find their forever home.

Frankie is  a three year old cat who enjoys exploring and being in the company of his carers. He also enjoys a quiet home with free access to a garden.

Heinz is a 14 year old cat who is fussy and loves interacting with owners and playing with his toys. He also enjoys living with a family and access to a garden with a cat flap.

Floss is a 10 year old male cat who loves human companionship and chilling in a cardboard box. He enjoys a quiet home with an adult family and only has three legs so may need extra care.
