A POOLE-based business has unveiled a giant cake for the world’s largest cake event.
Prop Options has created a two-metre-tall cake to be displayed at sugar craft event, Cake International.
The colossal two metre high, two metre wide and three-tiered cake is stable enough to stand on with its own built-in steps.
This 'Lambeth inspired' birthday cake was created for the 30th birthday of Cake International which takes place in Birmingham from the November 1 to 3.
Prop company was created by founders and directors Emily and Bradley Young in 2018.
They wanted to create something that would give Cake International a spectacular entrance.
Prop Options create cake props, stands and separators that push the boundaries, with the use of leading 3D printing technology for the creation of their grand ideas.
The cake extravaganza took the team of ten more than one hundred hours to design and build and consists of wood and 3D printed Eco PLA Filament.
These materials are eco-friendly and fully recyclable.
Due to the sheer size of the cake, the use of a forklift was needed for transportation to the event.
The cake was created for Cake International due to the pair stating how the event helped to bring their company into the spotlight.
Managing director Emily Young said: “We thought it would be amazing for brand awareness and provide an incredible opportunity to have fun with our loyal customers and industry professionals, bringing the community together in a social extravaganza.
"It’s been a challenging and exciting process bringing our vision to reality.”
This never been done before creation is the official birthday cake for the 30th birthday of Cake International.
Emily Young said: “When we first told Cake International about our idea, we thought they might think we were mad.
"Explaining a vision for something that has never been created before, took some visualising and a big leap of faith.”
The company has won a series of awards such as ‘Most Innovative Cake Stand Designer’ in 2022.
As well as ‘Best Finishing Touches Supplier’ and ‘Best Product’ at the DMA’s earlier this year.
