ARMED police made an arrest after reports of a man making threats in Christchurch.
Police officers and an armed unit were alerted to reports of a man ‘acting in a threatening manner’ while in possession of a suspected baton on October 27.
A man in his 30s was later arrested on multiple offences in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 12.49pm on Sunday 27 October 2024 of a man acting in a threatening manner in Gordon Road, Christchurch.
“It was further reported that the man was in possession of what was believed to be a baton.
Officers attended and, following enquiries, a local man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of threatening a person in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
“He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.”
