MILITARY personnel and veterans attending Remembrance Sunday events will be able to travel for free with South Western Railway.
This includes travel to Waterloo for the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph on either Saturday, November 9 or Sunday, November 10, returning on Sunday, November 10.
The Submariners’ Remembrance Service on Sunday, November 3 is also included, with travel to Waterloo allowed on either Saturday, November 2 or Sunday, November 3, returning on Sunday, November 3.
The offer of free travel, which is funded by the Department for Transport, is available to anyone travelling in uniform or able to show an appropriate form of identification and is applicable throughout Great Britain.
The rail company is also offering free travel for volunteers collecting for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, with free travel to and from the capital to attend London Poppy Day events on Thursday, October 31.
Anyone with a Royal British Legion collector’s ID can travel for free on South Western Railway services to Waterloo on Wednesday, October 30 or Thursday 31 October, returning on the Thursday or Friday, November 1.
