A DOG jumped up at a runner while the owner “made no attempt to control it” and “made threats”.
A woman was running on Bytheway Field off Leigh Road, Wimborne when she was confronted by a woman with a brown dog blocking her path.
The dog began trying to jump up at her and the other woman reportedly made no attempt to control it, police have said.
She then reportedly became aggressive toward the victim, shouting abuse at her and making threats.
The victim was eventually able to get past the dog and carry on running.
Officers have released an image of a woman they would like to identify after the incident at around 7.45am on September 28.
Police constable Mark Eastgate said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident and have obtained images of a woman we would like to speak to.
“I would urge anyone who recognises her to please contact us.
“I would also urge the woman involved to make contact with us so we can take your account of what happened.”
