A WOMAN who breached a slavery and trafficking order was found after two men were seen dragging a woman into a flat.
Zhu Xue Fei, 49, was found in the flat in Lansdowne Road, Bournemouth, along with another woman.
Prosecutor, Laura D’Alessandro told Bournemouth Crown Court on November 13 that a member of the public witnessed a female being dragged into a flat by two men on May 4.
Officers gained entry to the property after banging on the door and found two women inside, one of which was the defendant.
After checking the police database, officers found that Xue Fei was subject to a slavery and trafficking risk or prevention order as of January 31, 2023.
The order stated that no females were to stay overnight at an address she was staying, unless they were family members or police were informed.
She was also ordered to reside at an address in London and only possess one mobile phone, unless reported to the police.
However, when officers found the defendant she admitted to living with another woman in Bournemouth and confessed to having two mobile phones.
The defendant told police that she was sex worker but does not work locally and was staying because her boyfriend lives in the area.
Mitigating, Tom Wright, said the defendant has had a “tough time of it” and has had to resort to sex worker for money.
He added that she has also been exploited and questioned the “two mystery men that vanished into thin air”.
Recorder Tom Webb told the court that other items were found in the flat which “strongly suggested” it was being used for prostitution, with the second lady also confirming she was a sex worker.
The defendant admitted to breaching the order, but denied facilitating sex work for others.
“I don’t know much about the background to you being in flat and who was making you work there, but it seems pretty clear to me that you are, to an extent, a victim here as well,” said Recorder Webb.
“And whilst breaching a court order is very serious I do keep that in mind.”
Zhu Xue Fei, 49 and of London, was sentenced to four months in prison suspended for one year and must complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
She must also pay £150 towards prosecution costs.
