PLANS have been submitted to demolish an “aged” bungalow of “little architectural merit” and build three houses in its place in Ringwood.
Caspian Developments Ltd is looking to knock down a building on Northfield Road, half a mile away from Ringwood town centre, to build three homes with designated parking spaces.
Each of the proposed houses would have its own landscaped plot, connected with a new road, and the development would have a “bin presentation point” to allow for easy refuse collection for the council’s staff.
The plan says that the scale of development is not out of place on Northfield Road, as they believe it “accords with the prevailing character and appearance of housing.”
This is Caspian Developments’ sixth time submitting plans at Northfield Road after being refused the demolition and replacement dwellings in 2022 and 2023.
Plans submitted in 2022 originally wanted to knock down the bungalow and build four detached houses in its place.
New Forest District Council refused this due to overdevelopment of the site, not leaving enough space for vegetation and gardens overlooking each other, among other reasons.
The latest plans acknowledge the previously refused submission and says that pre-application advice for 2024 plans was “generally supportive of the scheme.”
