A FUNDRAISER has been created to help a sheep sanctuary after its shelter was battered by Storm Bert.
The Smallest Flock Sheep Sanctuary is a non-profit organisation founded by Charlotte Reynolds in 1977.
The sanctuary is currently home to 54 rescued sheep across the region.
During the recent storm, Charlotte’s shelter and newly bought hay were destroyed, prompting a fundraiser to replace the damage.
Charlotte said: “After much preparation for the Winter, buying and laying mud mats, having hard-core put down both to ease mud, shelters up, hay in my little old sanctuary has lost a shelter and lots of hay leaving one group of four without anywhere dry to go.
“There are lots of older residents along with special needs within the general flock and all safe and loved for life.”
Jill, a member of the charity, said: “If anybody could donate, and share this fundraiser, that would be wonderful to support this small nonprofit group, to help us rebuild and replace the losses.
“Thank you very much on behalf of Charlotte and the 54 grateful sheep.”
So far, £973 of the targeted £1250 has been raised through GoFundMe.
Donations can be made to a GoFundMe titled: ‘The Smallest Flock Sheep Sanctuary’.
