GARRY May wants the washed-out National League Four-Team Championship to be restaged in midweek.
Buccaneers’ boss would be in favour of the prestigious event, abandoned after only 12 heats at Mildenhall two days ago, being run over the full 24 races again.
May, whose side were still in with a chance of reaching the final when rain saturated the track, said: “I just hope they run the full meeting again.
“In a congested fixture list, the problem is getting all the teams together because it’s a Sunday.
“So I would like to see Dudley or Isle of Wight restage it on Tuesday, or King’s Lynn on Wednesday, when none of the other teams are riding.
“We had two race wins through Chris Mills and Karl Mason and Mildenhall didn’t have any.
“So if we’d drawn level with them we would have gone through on race wins.”
May is confident Bournemouth Castle Cover’s quartet can do better if the meeting is fully restaged.
He added: “It will be another day and we will have a bit more of a chance.”
• Buccaneers’ visit to Newport in the National League has been brought forward to Sunday from July 9.
