JAMES Brundle and Danny Warwick snatched a nail-biting last-heat 5-1 at King’s Lynn to blast Buccaneers into the play-offs despite their 45-44 loss last night.
Bournemouth Castle Cover needed to lose by fewer than six to grab the one National League away match point that would seal their place in the top four.
But their play-off hopes hung in the balance ahead of race 15 as they trailed 44-39 in a tense thriller.
With the qualification cut-off date Sunday midnight, Buccaneers had to get at least a 3-3 to make sure they jumped above Plymouth into fourth.
Brundle and Warwick, guesting for injured Jerran Hart, delivered the goods, combining to head home Simon Lambert and Darren Mallett.
It means Bournemouth join Newport, Dudley and Buxton in the semis with Hornets able to choose their last-four opponents.
Brundle, who scorched to 13 paid 14, said: “We’ll take any team on over two legs and I believe we can blow them out the water.”
