ROUMELIA Lane in Boscombe has been plagued in recent years by a series of shocking crimes.
When 25-year-old Nick Verron was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver in 2009 his life changed forever.
The business development manager was not expected to survive the ferocious attack which left him with a catalogue of horrific injuries.
Jason Teelin was just 17 when he attacked Mr Verron.
Teelin was jailed for seven years for inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on Mr Verron.
Mr Verron’s mum gave up work to look after him and he moved back into the family home in Buckinghamshire. Last June he moved into his own bungalow.
And Southbourne resident Nicholas Ormerod was stabbed by homeless alcoholic Mark Haylock in a nearby flat, before stumbling out into the street with fatal injuries.
Since then his mum, Jane, who lives in Cranleigh Road, has campaigned against knife crime.
Even local MP Tobias Ellwood has not escaped the violence in the area.
He was attacked by a gang of yobs in 2009 after asking them to stop kicking a ball around a street.
When they refused and started to throw the ball at his face, the Bournemouth East MP took photographs of them and called police.
The gang then tried to steal his phone and Mr Ellwood was punched several times and needed hospital treatment for minor head injuries and temporary hearing loss.
