Great British Bake Off (GBBO) returned for the semi final of the 2021 series this week with one more baker leaving the show.
Each week, amateur bakers take part in baking challenges where they attempt to pull off signature, technical and showstopper bakes.
Every episode is a combination of a baking week and this week’s episode showed the bakers taking on pastry week.
Who won star baker for patisserie week?
At the end of the episode we saw Crystelle, a 26-year-old client relationship manager from London, crowned star baker as she wowed the judges with her efforts.
Who left Great British Bake Off last week?
Unfortunately, another episode of GBBO meant another contestant had to leave.
This time it was Jürgen’s turn to say goodbye to the Bake Off tent.
The 56-year-old IT professional from Sussex, who moved over from Germany 18 years ago, will not take part in any further challenges.
Jürgen took to Instagram to thank the fans of Bake Off for their support.
He said: “Thank you so much for all your support! Sad as it is to leave the tent at this point I am immensely proud on what I have achieved TOGETHER with all the other bakers! We helped each other where we could, and just had the best time ever! Congratulations to #starbaker @crystellepereira and to @thelatebloomeruk and @giuseppecooks for being in the final. Well deserved! #GBBO #GBBO2021 #greatbritishbakeoff #happybaking”
Next week the amateur bakers will take on more baking challenges in the final of the show.
The Great British Bake Off final 2021 will air on Channel 4 on Tuesday November 23 at 8pm.
