These are the different self-isolation rules for people who have received their Covid vaccines and unvaccinated people.
It comes as the Government announced changes to the isolation period from seven to five following two negative lateral flow tests,
Rules for unvaccinated people
If you are unvaccinated and you happen to get in contact with someone who has tested positive, you are legally required to self-isolate for a full 10-day period.
Plus, if during the ten-day isolation period you test positive, you then start your isolation period from the day you first showed symptoms of Covid.
Rules for vaccinated people
People who are fully vaccinated and identified as contacts of someone with Covid-19 should take daily rapid lateral flow tests for 7 days - but they are not legally required to self-isolate.
If you do test positive, you must self-isolate for ten full days - but you can end your isolation after five full days and two negative lateral tests.
How to get vaccinated
You can get a vaccine by going online to the NHS website and booking a time slot at your local vaccination center.
Currently, anyone aged over 12 and above can get their first and second dose.
