Matt Lucas is set to make Bake Off history in tonight's episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.
The comedian, who usually presents the show alongside Noel Fielding, had to step in for Martine McCutcheon after she pulled out last minute.
It is the first time a presenter has also competed in the show in Bake Off's history.
He will be going up against rapper and songwriter Example, comedian Ed Gamble and DJ Annie Mac.
Fielding will present the show solo with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
The news of the last-minute change was revealed by Example to Ranvir Singh on the ITV show Lorraine.
Speaking from Australia via Zoom, he said: "I was told it was me, Annie Mac, Ed Gamble and Martine McCutcheon and I got there and Martine McCutcheon wasn’t there.
“So I’m pretty sure that Matt Lucas jumped in at the last minute as obviously he was meant to be one of the presenters.”
“I think fair play to him as a lot of people will think maybe he wanted to do this and he didn’t want to do it as he had no preparation.
“He found out the morning we started filming he was told ‘sorry you’re not going to be presenting today you’re going to be baking’ so he’s the real soldier in all this.”
:: The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand up to Cancer airs on Tuesday nights at 8pm on Channel 4.
