Brewdog, a craft beer company known for its statements and actions on current affairs, has taken out another beer in reference to Boris Johnson’s resignation as Prime Minister.
Boris LIE-PA is described as a “resignation hazy IPA”, brewed to celebrate the next chapter as Johnson steps down.
A 5.5% IPA, the beer is crafted with oats and wheat with a full-bodied finish, pouring bright opaque and aromas of citrus and exotic fruit.
The beer is said to be around for a limited time with the description stating “don’t expect this beer to outstay its welcome”.
You can purchase a pack of 4 for £5.95, or a pack of 12 for £16.95.
In days leading up to his resignation, Brewdog shared the idea for the beer on social media sites, asking customers to choose between four beer titles: Boris Lie-PA, Resignation Nation, Bye Bye Big Dog or Bojo Bogo.
The new beer follows the news that Boris Johnson spoke to the Tory 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady and agreed to stand down, with a new Tory leader set to be in place by the party conference in October, a No 10 source said.
It follows a string of protests against his leadership.
Boris Johnson confirmed his replacement will get his full backing and expressed his disappointment in leaving the "best job in the world".
Brewdog aims to start dispatching the beer by August 1, 2022.
