Prince William is said to have used a secret name, along with his wife Kate, when booking a getaway so they could have some privacy, according to a royal author.

Being so well known, it’s no surprise that they tried to have some downtime away from the public eye.

Although it would be difficult for the couple to go completely unnoticed when out and about, the author claimed that they were able to have some privacy at a time when their relationship was slightly rockier, according to the Mirror.

Another writer has said the time they spent away on holiday together helped them decide they’d like to get married in the future, the newspaper reports.

In his book William and Catherine, published in 2011, author Andrew Morton said that after the couple had taken a relationship break in 2007, they headed to the Seychelles for a break and some reconciliation.

He wrote: “Kate and William, under the assumed names of Martin and Rose Middleton, bid farewell to the paradise island of Desroches in the Outer Seychelles where they had spent a sublime week renewing their love affair”.

Another author, Marcia Moody, claimed in her book Kate, released in 2013, that the couple decided they would get married “when the time was right”.

She wrote: “They stayed in the Desroches Island Resort, checking in under the names Martin and Rosemary Middleton, and went kayaking and snorkelling in the shallow coral reef.”

Adding: “It was during this break that they made an agreement with each other. For the next few years, they would work and enjoy their lives, knowing that at some point when the time was right, they would be husband and wife.”

Now the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011 after an eight-year relationship.

Kate was William’s university flatmate and their wedding was the royal event of 2011 as 2,000 guests filled the abbey.
