Former prime minister Liz Truss suffered a rather embarrassing moment today after being completely snubbed at the Goodwood Festival.

ITV was quizzing excited race-goers at the West Sussex-based horse-racing event before the interviewer stopped to chat with a man.

After a rather quick Q&A, the presenter bid his farewells before moving on to the next interviewee. But who was standing next to him? Our former prime minister, who was completely ignored.

Brendan May posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Oh my god. Oh my god. He didn’t even recognise her. A former Prime Minister of his country.

"A very recent one. The commentary at the end too! Greatest clip yet. I am on the floor. I am not sure I will recover.

"Her gaping, gormless smile as the camera moves away from her. I can't bear it.

"Thoughts and prayers with the horses Liz bets on."

The interviewer moved on swiftly leaving the commentators in the studio stunned.
