THISTLECRACK will tomorrow (Saturday) parade with stable-mates Cue Card and Fox Norton ahead of Badger Ales Chase Raceday at Wincanton.
The Colin Tizzard-trained trio will also enjoy a racecourse gallop, which will mark Thistlecrack’s official return since being beaten by the ill-fated Many Clouds at Cheltenham in January.
Thistlecrack, Cue Card and Fox Norton all feature among a stellar cast of 26 entries for the 32Red King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.
Speaking at a Wincanton Badger Ales Chase media morning, Tizzard said: “We love Wincanton and are delighted to be able to canter all three King George VI Chase contenders ahead of racing.
"I am sure racegoers will be pleased to see the such quality horses in action.
“Thistlecrack has another month of fast work before he will be ready to run.
"The plan is to run over hurdles before the Boxing Day showcase because we can’t really go there first time up.
“I feel his legs once a week now and someone else feels them every other day and they seem absolutely fine so we will treat him with no kid gloves and get ready for action.”
The 56th renewal of the Badger Ales Chase is one of the hottest handicaps this season and is supported by an outstanding seven-race card which includes the competitive Rising Stars Novices Chase and the Stan James Elite Hurdle.
Gates open at 10.30am with tickets priced from £16. To book, call 0344 579 3014 or visit wincanton.thejockeyclub.co.uk
