POOLE Athletic Club made the most of home advantage at the opening Wessex Cross-Country League meeting on Canford Heath.
Jamie Grose won the senior men’s event, completing almost 8km in 26:43, albeit seven seconds behind Wells City junior Ben Lloyd.
Bournemouth AC’s Laszlo Toth was a further three seconds adrift, while PAC’s Mike Hirst was the first over-60.
Both Rabjohns siblings were among PAC’s winners.
William took the under-13 boys’ race by more than one minute with club-mates George Mahon and Dylan Green third and fourth.
Isobel Rabjohns gained the under-15 girls’ crown by a five-second margin over Sarah Graham of Wimborne with Amelia Reynolds third for BAC.
Ryan Symington led Poole AC to first, third and fourth in the under-15 boys’ event as Josh Smith and Mark Ruby backed up.
Nancy Taylor completed PAC’s victories in the under-11 girls.
Dorchester under-20 Gloria Aleotti took the women’s honours, clocking 25:35 for 6km ahead of Bournemouth AC veteran Nikki Sandell (26:26).
Poole AC’s Isabelle Taylor was third with age group wins for Sarah Orr of Wimborne, Kathryn Robson (PAC) and Helen Ambrosen (BAC).
Fern Kimber won the under-17 women’s race for Poole Runners ahead of Wimborne duo Holly Nixon and Maddy Herbert, whose club-mate Ben Martin was third among the under-17 men.
BAC’s Neve East achieved the under-13 girls’ victory by two seconds over Poole AC’s fast-finishing Lexie Brown with Wimborne AC’s Iris Courtney third.
