DORSET star Georgia Hall tomorrow launches her challenge to claim the first women's major of 2019.
Hall is hoping to take home the ANA Inspiration title at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.
Wimborne-based professional Hall has failed to progress beyond the half-way cut in two previous attempts at the tournament in 2013 and 2018, making it the only one of the five majors where she is yet to finish in the top 35.
So far in 2019, the former Canford kid has claimed one top-ten finish in six LPGA Tour appearances. This came in the calendar year curtain-raiser at the Tournament of Champions in Florida, with Hall claiming ninth place and more than £28,000.
The reigning Women's British Open champion is scheduled to tee off at the ANA Inspiration at 9.11pm UK time alongside world number one Sung Hyun Park in a field packed with the sport's leading talents.
The event was first held in 1972 but only became a major in 1983. This year's prize fund totals more than £2.25million.
Pre-tournament favourites for title include Sung Hyun Park, Jin Young Ko, Nelly Korda and Inbee Park, while last year's winner Pernilla Lindberg remains an outsider with bookmakers.
