Piers Copeland is set for a Team GB debut after winning the England Athletics under-23 1,500m Championship, reports Nigel Harding.
The rising Wimborne AC star eased through his heat at Bedford in 3:49.56.
Starting the final as favourite, he stayed at the back through a very tactical 800m before unleashing a 55s lap and going on to victory in 3:50.49.
Having posted 3:39.50 in Germany recently, Copeland has qualified for the European under-23 Championship in Sweden.
His sister Grace also recently achieved international honours.
Wimborne AC club-mate Ryan Webb cleared 2.10m to claim high jump bronze.
Madeleine Smith of Bournemouth AC leapt a wind-assisted 11.97m to take fourth place in the triple jump.
Chloe Burrows ran 24.88s in the 200m final, while Joe Bacon completed his under-20 400m hurdles heat in 57.71s.
The biggest success from Poole AC came courtesy of Adam Booth, who amassed 6,229 points to finish fourth in the South-East Schools’ Decathlon Championship at Basingstoke.
His sequence included personal bests in 400m (50.21s), 1,500m (4:44.60), long jump (6.84m) and discus (32.87m).
