ADAM Booth secured the senior boys’ silver medal at the English Schools’ Combined Events Championship.
Representing Hampshire Schools, the Poole AC decathlete amassed a personal best 6,367 points.
He led the competition overnight after running 100m in 11.32secs, a 6.71m long jump, a 10.36m shot putt career best, a 1.77m high jump and a 400m best of 50.07.
He completed the event with 110m hurdles in 15.09, a 32.86m discus throw, a best pole vault of 3.50m, a 40.92m javelin throw and 4:50.91 for 1500m.
Though Booth is in the junior year of three in the under-20 category, his performance ranks eleventh nationally.
Bournemouth AC’s Rian Upton placed 14th and Wimborne AC’s Alexander Long was 21st in the competition.
