WIMBORNE Town have been forced to forfeit their FA Trophy contest at Thame United tomorrow after one of their first-team members tested positive for COVID-19.
Magpies announced on their official Twitter page the third qualifying round clash at ASM Stadium would have to be called off, with a number of the Cuthbury club’s squad now self-isolating.
A post on Magpies official Twitter account said: “Unfortunately due to one of the first-team members testing positive for COVID 19 the rest of the first team need to self-isolate.
“So unfortunately we have to forfeit our FA Trophy match tomorrow against Thame.”
Southern League Central outfit Thame have also confirmed the fixture has been forfeited, meaning Magpies will miss the chance to progress to the first round proper.
James Stokoe’s side are scheduled to visit Hartley Wintney in Southern League South on Saturday, November 7, before a trip to Yate Town a week later.
