MERLEY Cobham Sports made it five wins from five in the Dorset Premier Supplementary Cup, overcoming previously unbeaten Gillingham Town 2-0 in Group B.
Cobham took the lead after just six minutes as Brandon Randall's strike deflected in.
Matt Groves, Daniel Edwards and Joe Wickham all went close to doubling the tally, but Merley took a single-goal lead into the break.
But Wickham made no mistake soon after the restart, converting a Callum Perry cross.
Cobham suffered a setback midway through the half as they saw Josh Pickering dismissed and Perry sin-binned after Gillingham were awarded a penalty. But Aaron Rodriguez fired the spot-kick wide.
The nine men of Cobham dug in to see out the 10 minutes before Perry returned to action and almost added a third goal soon after with Edwards smashing a free kick against the post.
