SCOTT Mitchell endured mixed fortunes at the latest run of PDC Super Series events in Milton Keynes.
Scotty Dog competed in four consecutive days of action, winning three of his seven matches.
The Dorset ace suffered an early exit on day one, beaten at the first hurdle by in-form Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode, who went on to reach the quarter-finals.
But Mitchell returned with a bang on Tuesday, embarking on his best run of the week.
The 51-year-old saw off former Premier League player Daryl Gurney 6-2 before cruising past Eddie Lovely 6-1 to reach the last 32.
There Mitchell met Dave Chisnall, posting a 102.5 average to win a high-class contest 6-2.
His run ended in the last 16, beaten 6-4 by Joe Cullen.
Mitchell then failed to get past the first round in the final two days of action, losing to Kevin Doets and Ted Evetts.
Jose de Sousa won two of the four events, with Cullen and Peter Wright also in the winner's circle.
Mitchell now sits 88th on the two-year PDC order of merit.
