DORSET star Scott Mitchell will make his PDC World Championship debut against Chris Landman.
Scotty Dog, the 2015 BDO world champion, qualified for the showpiece event at Alexandra Palace after an impressive first year as a main PDC tour card holder.
And he will kick off his quest to lift the Sid Waddell trophy with a first-round clash against Dutchman Landman.
It will also be 40-year-old's debut in the PDC World Championship, having reached the quarter-finals of the BDO event in 2020, beaten by eventual winner Wayne Warren.
Landman, nicknamed 'The Countryman', sealed his spot at Ally Pally by coming through a West Europe qualifier, beating two former Lakeside champions in Christian Kist and Jelle Klaasen 6-0 along the way.
The winner of the clash between Mitchell and Landman will then face number 27 seed Ian White in the second round.
That heavy-hitting quarter of the draw also features former world champions Gary Anderson, Raymond van Barneveld, Michael van Gerwen, Adrian Lewis and Rob Cross.
Mitchell returned to televised action over the weekend, in the Players Championship Finals at Butlin's Minehead.
After surviving six match darts to beat Dutchman Martijn Kleermaker 6-5, Mitchell produced a below-par display as he was thrashed 6-0 by in-form Jonny Clayton in round two.
Peter Wright went on to win the event, beating Ryan Searle 11-10 in a thrilling final.
The PDC World Championship begins on December 15, with a schedule of play likely to be released over the next few days.
