DORSET star Georgia Hall finished her US Women’s Open quest in a tie for 34th position, as she recorded a final-round 76 at Pine Needles.
After rounds of 72, 71 and another 71, the 26-year-old went out in 39 in her fourth round and a costly double-bogey at the par five 15th saw her slip back, coming home in 37.
Finishing six-over-par for the tournament, Hall, who banked $51,042 for her efforts, finished 19 strokes behind comfortable winner Minjee Lee.
The Australian took home $1.8million after mixing four birdies with the same number of bogeys to card an even-par 71 and finish at 13 under, four strokes ahead of Mina Harigae of the United States.
Victory ensured Lee was the sixth straight non-US player to win the tournament and the first Australian since her mentor Karrie Webb in 2001.
Posting on social media after the week, Hall said: “Another world class golf course @uswomensopen. Really enjoyed my week here! Now home time.”
