FORMER Talbot Heath School pupil Jodie Burrage has discovered her opening-round opponent for Wimbledon, which starts next week.
Burrage, 23, is set for her second campaign at SW19, having been handed a wildcard by tournament organisers.
She also competed last year, losing convincingly in the first round against Lauren Davis.
But Burrage heads into this year's ladies singles in fine form, fresh off the biggest win of her career, stunning world number four Paula Badosa on her run to the last 16 of this week's Rothesay International at Eastbourne.
That has helped catapult the London-born ace, who used to train at West Hants Club, up 47 places to a career high 169 in the rankings.
She will begin her campaign at Wimbledon next week against Ukraine's Lesia Tsurenko, who is ranked 114.
The 33-year-old has competed in the main draw of the ladies singles at the event on nine occasions, reaching round three in 2017.
Burrage will also compete in the doubles, alongside fellow Brit Eden Silva. They will face Dutch duo Arianne Hartono and Demi Schuurs in round one.
Wimbledon begins on Monday, screened live on the BBC.
