WIMBORNE Town have announced the return of former manager Christer Warren and FA Vase hero Taffy Richardson, with the pair taking charge of the Magpies' reserves.
Warren, who represented Cherries over 100 times and also played locally for Southampton and Eastleigh, was handed his first role in management when he took charge of Magpies as player-manager back in 2007.
Richardson, who captained Wimborne at Wembley when they lifted the FA Vase in 1992, will serve as assistant manager to Warren, who will be the number one in the dugout.
As well as serving as number two to Tom Killick at Poole Town, Richardson has experience as a manager, having led Salisbury briefly in 2001.
Magpies' reserves have been accepted into the Dorset Premier League, the 11th tier of the pyramid. As the Wessex League does not accept reserve sides, it is the highest level the Southern League outfit can submit a reserve side.
The club had previously fielded a team in the Hampshire Combination and Development Premier League, winning the competition in 2021 and finishing runners up last season.
A statement from Wimborne read: "The club are pleased to announce the recruitment of Christer Warren as our new Reserve Team Manager.
"Chris has previously been our former first team manager, as well as playing as a professional for Southampton, Bournemouth & QPR .
"Christer will be joined by a new assistant and former WTFC skipper Taffy Richardson. We welcome both Chris and Taffy back to the club."
Magpies are currently looking for further players for their reserve side. Any interested players can contact Matt Marle via matthew.marle@hotmail.co.uk
