POOLE-BORN Hayley Davis is set to take her part in the historic Women's British Open this week.
The 29-year-old came through qualifying for the event on Monday, which is set to be the first women's major championship to be held at Muirfield.
The East Lothian course is finally opening its doors to female players, having last held a men's major there back in 2013.
Davis sealed her spot with a three-under-par round of 69 at North Berwick this week, to take her spot at the British Open for the first time in her career.
She has been handed a tee time of 3.17pm for round one on Thursday, alongside Finland's Tiia Koivisto and Jana Melichova of Czech Republic.
Fellow Dorset star Georgia Hall, the 2018 champion, gets her challenge underway at 7.58am, in a group with Jessica Korda of the USA and South Korea's In Gee Chun.
The field of 144 players will compete for their share of the 6.8million dollar purse.
The competition will be screened live on Sky Sports.
