CHERRIES are still looking to do business in the transfer window according to head coach Scott Parker.

Premier League clubs have just under two weeks to complete their summer business ahead of the transfer window shutting on Wednesday, August 31.

So far Cherries have brought in five new faces – defenders Ryan Fredericks and Marcos Senesi, midfielders Marcus Tavernier and Joe Rothwell, and goalkeeper Neto.

Seven players left the Vitality Stadium over the course of the summer with contracts and loan deals expiring, although out of the departees, only Liverpool defender Nat Phillips played any meaningful minutes.

When asked if more transfers were planned, Parker is obviously keen to continue bolstering his squad, as he shared: “We’re hoping to for sure.

“We’re hoping to try and do some business before the window shuts.

“I wouldn’t say we’re close to anything at this present moment in time.

“But we’re trying to improve, and trying to bring some players in to help the current squad. That’s the plan.”

The former Fulham head coach was coy when quizzed which areas of the squad he felt needed improvement, and how many more players he aimed to bring in.

Currently Cherries have just four senior centre backs at the club, with James Hill yet to start a league game for Cherries since arriving in January, whilst Jordan Zemura is the only natural left-back at the Dorset club.

He continued: “There’s a few areas where we’re probably a little bit light.

“I think generally, there’s areas that we all understand we probably going to need a little bit of improvement on, and that’s what we’re trying hard to do.

“I wouldn’t engage in the numbers. It’s a difficult one, I couldn’t really put a number on it.

“I realise how difficult it is. I understand the challenges that we all face. Players are at clubs that you want, clubs don't want them to go.

“So look, there's a lot of work to be done between now and when the window shuts.

“All I can say is we're hoping that we can try and bring some players in to give us that help what we need.”
