FIRST-TEAM coach Tommy Elphick revealed Cherries boss Gary O’Neil had been “struggling” with the virus which has made its way around the squad.
O’Neil managed to deliver his messages to the group on Friday morning, ahead of Saturday’s Premier League home game with Crystal Palace (3pm).
He is expected to be in the dugout for the clash with Patrick Vieira’s eagles, but Elphick faced the media as the head coach got some rest.
Asked whether O’Neil was okay ahead of the contest, Elphick said: “No, struggling a little bit.
“He's been struck down by the virus, but he was well enough to get in and deliver what he needed to deliver to the lads this morning. So, they were the priority - not you guys.
“I'm sorry for that, but he's struggling a little bit.”
Quizzed on whether he would be present against Palace, Elphick replied: “Yeah, we hope so.
“As I say, he delivered the message to the lads this morning. So off to bed and try and get ready for tomorrow.”
