DORSET & Wilts made it two wins from two in the Bill Beaumont County Championship with a resounding 66-0 victory over Devon.
The Twin Counties took control of proceedings from kick-off, moving 24-0 up inside the first 15 minutes, eventually scoring 33 points in each half.
The hosts, playing at Royal Wootton Bassett RFC, ran in 10 tries in all without reply to sit top of Pool Two, having also beaten Gloucestershire 47-15 in the tournament opener.
Playing on his home pitch, winger Mike Clifton scored the try of the day two minutes into the second half with a spectacular charge down the left before flying over the line.
Also among the scorers was Bournemouth’s Mike Pope, who crossed the whitewash twice, Joe Atkins, Scott Parry, Eoin Baker, Harry Murphy, Phil Bardwell, Henry Toomer and Gavin Ougan.
Wootton Bassett’s Sam Baker kicked over eight conversions.
This is the best start Dorset & Wilts have ever made to the competition. They face winless Berkshire on Saturday at Rams RFC in Reading (2pm).
Meanwhile, Dorset & Wilts women were beaten 63-15 by Devon’s women at Royal Wootton Bassett in the Jill Burns County Cup.
