SCOTT Mitchell has accepted an invitation into the World Seniors Matchplay, to be held in September.
The Dorset star was the final player to be selected for the event at the York Barbican.
Scot Robert Thornton won the inaugural Matchplay last year, in the event for players aged 50 and over.
There will be a field of 16 competitors for the event, with 13 confirmed and the final three to be determined after the last round of qualifiers.
Mitchell, 53, has been invited alongside the likes of legends Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, Trina Gulliver and John Part.
The tournament takes place on September 2-3 and will be screened live on BT Sport.
Taking to Twitter, 2015 BDO world champion Mitchell wrote: “So excited and thrilled to be included in this Seniors Matchplay, getting to play at another iconic sporting UK venue.”
