BOURNEMOUTH Bobcats are looking for a late push to clinch a spot in the end of season play-offs.
Bobcats currently sit third in the six-team SFC Division One West of the British American Football Association, with four wins and four defeats on their record.
They have two matches remaining, both at home at Slades Farm, against the league’s current bottom two Bristol Apache and Oxford Saints.
Hertfordshire Cheetahs and Rushmoor Knights sit ahead of Bobcats in the standings, with South Wales Warriors in hot pursuit of Bournemouth in fourth.
Bournemouth’s latest win came courtesy of a 34-20 triumph at Rushmoor.
Bobcats took the early lead thanks to a 45-yard touchdown, but Knights instantly levelled up at 7-7.
Rushmoor’s defence struggled to cope with Bournemouth’s attack, the visitors leading 20-7 by the end of the first quarter.
Bobcats did not let up, extending their lead to 34-7 by half-time, before Knights began to rally with two quick touchdowns early in the third quarter.
However, that would be as good as it got for the hosts, Bobcats easing to victory.
Bobcats face Bristol, who they lost 21-0 to earlier this season, on Sunday, July 16.
