DAN Cann believes Hamworthy United’s next opponents Cribbs will be “no mugs” in the Southern League Division One South following their promotion.
Hammers travel to Gloucestershire this evening as they visit newly promoted Cribbs, who secured their place in the eighth tier by winning the Hellenic Premier League last term.
They started life in the Southern League with a credible draw away at Frome Town, with Cann predicting Cribbs to use momentum from their recent triumph and hit the ground running at a higher level, just as Hammers did last term.
Under Tim Sills, Hammers lifted the Wessex Premier in 2022, before finishing in third under Cann in their debut season in the eighth tier.
Offering his thoughts on the upcoming game, Cann shared: “They drew with Frome, which is a good result for them.
“Frome obviously a very good side and always compete in this league. So Cribbs, they're not going to be any mugs.
“Similar to ourselves last season coming into the league, they've got a bit of momentum from the season before from getting promoted, so their tail is going to be up.
“So yeah, we're going to need to be right at the races to get anything out of that game.”
