BOURNEMOUTH Bobcats’ season came to an end with a 30-7 defeat at Norwich Devils.
They had booked their spot in this British American Football League play-off, having overcome London Blitz B in the wildcard round.
After an even first quarter, Norwich scored the first touchdown, but were unsuccessful with their two-point conversion attempt.
Bobcats were unable to string together a drive and missed a field goal effort, with the game developing into a battle of the defences.
Another Norwich touchdown came in the second quarter, the lead extended to 14-0 by the end of the first half.
Bobcats’ hopes were hampered when quarterback Sam Chance was forced off injured with backup Kieran Higgins taking his place.
Bournemouth did reduce the arrears to 14-7, returning a Norwich punt all the way to the end zone.
But the Devils hit straight back to score their third touchdown.
The hosts then pulled further clear in the closing stages, to end Bournemouth’s season.
Bobcats now take a break before returning to training in October.
