Poole's Bryony Page and Izzy Songhurst set for British Championships

Kirsty Way was also due to compete, but has withdrawn due to injury.

Held at the Utilita Arena from September 15-17, the British Championships sees 300 elite-level tumblers and trampolinists compete across the three disciplines.

For Page and Songhurst, the competition holds immense significance, as it determines who will be selected to compete at the Trampoline World Championships - which in itself is an Olympic qualifying event for Paris 2024.

The duo hope to be among the 14 athletes selected to represent their country and participate in the World Championships in November, where 100 gymnasts from over 50 countries will compete across eight days.

Also taking place in the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, British gymnasts will have the chance to compete at a Worlds in front of a home crowd for the first time in 12 years. 

Commenting on the upcoming Championships, Sarah Powell, CEO of British Gymnastics, said: “I am thoroughly looking forward to watching all those participating in the British Championships this weekend.

"In line with our new direction, ‘Leap Without Limits’, the event is an opportunity to highlight some of the incredible talent in the UK right now and deliver an uplifting gymnastics experience for all.

“This year is particularly exciting for British Gymnastics, with the Trampoline World Championships taking place on home soil for the first time since 2011. With the event acting as an Olympic Qualification event, Great Britain hopes to achieve some of the highly sought-after places at the Paris 2024 Games.”

At last year’s World Championships, Page and Songhurst helped Great Britain win the all-around team World title.

Two-time Olympic medalist Page also claimed silver in both individual and team trampoline.
