REIGNING holders Poole Town have been handed a bye in the first round of the Dorset Senior Cup.
Dolphins won the competition for a second year in a row last term, defeating National South outfit Weymouth in the final staged at their BlackGold Stadium home.
Southern League Division One South side Hamworthy United also enter at the next stage of the competition, whilst their league rivals Wimborne have been drawn at home to last year’s finalists Weymouth.
Legendary former Dolphins boss Tom Killick’s new club, Dorchester Town, have also been handed a bye into the second round of the competition.
Dorset Premier League side Swanage & Herston Town re-enter the competition for the first time in four years. Swans travel to Wessex Premier League outfit Shaftesbury.
Verwood are also on their travels, visiting Bridport, whilst the Potters’ divisional rivals Hamworthy Recreation host Gillingham Town.
The other tie drawn sees Sherborne host Portland United. Games will be played the week commencing Monday, November 13.
