BOURNEMOUTH fell to a fourth straight defeat in Regional 1 South Central, beaten in a high-scoring encounter by Tunbridge Wells at Chapel Gate.
The rollercoaster contest eventually saw the visitors run out 43-27 victors, to continue their charge towards the top of the table.
The match began with under-9s player Brodie Maddrell running out with the side, before a minute’s applause was held in memory of his father, Richard, who passed away earlier in the month.
Lions’ frailties from the line-out were punished again early on as Tunbridge cleared danger before putting the first try on the board.
The lead was extended to 14-0, before Ryan Morrell crossed the whitewash for Bournemouth.
Lions then conceded a penalty for bringing down a maul, Tunbridge kicking for touch before forcing their way over the line to make it 21-7.
Grant Hancox kicked three points back, before Morrell found a gap for his second try of the afternoon, the score 21-17 at half-time.
And Lions completed the turnaround early in the second period, Ash Taylor going over.
But that would be as good as it got as Tunbridge stormed back with two tries to move 31-24 ahead.
Lions pushed for a leveller, but left gaps which the Kent side exploited, scoring three late tries to secure the win.
Lions are next in action on Saturday, October 14, away at Brighton.
