DORSET pushed eventual champions Buckinghamshire all the way in the women’s county finals at King’s Lynn Golf Club.
Bucks won all five of their matches, with Dorset eventually placing fourth out of six.
But when the two met on a thrilling second day of competition, Dorset looked to upset Bucks’ winning run.
Dorset duo Harriet Teversham and Jane Southcombe were two-up through eight, but Bucks pair Lulu Leetham and Ellie Lichtenhein turned things around to be two-up through 15.
Back came Teversham and Southcombe in the final foursomes, as over 100 followers watched on as the match was all-square going down 18, where Bucks prevailed.
Dorset ended the event with three draws and two defeats on their record, finishing ahead of Lincolnshire and Sussex, but behind Bucks, Yorkshire and Essex.
Next year’s county finals are due to take place at Stover Golf Club, Devon from September 20-22.
