WIMBORNE Town’s fine run in the FA Youth Cup came to an end with defeat at Swindon Town.
Magpies had progressed past five teams to set up their clash with the Robins in the second round, where they were soundly beaten 5-0 at The County Ground, Conor Britchford-Stanley bagging a brace.
Free-scoring Wimborne bagged 19 goals on their way to round two. The journey started in the preliminary round, with a 4-4 draw away at Millbrook, Magpies progressing 5-4 on penalties.
The club then hosted Gosport Borough and dispatched of them 4-1, before winning 3-1 away at Havant & Waterlooville.
A 4-0 thumping of Fareham Town following, before Finley Toghill’s hat-trick fired them to a 4-2 win at Newport County in round one.
Cherries will enter the competition in round three. Poole Town were beaten by Fareham in the second qualifying round.
