ASHLEY Clarke struck twice as Cherries progressed into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with victory over West Bromwich Albion.
The striker scored in each half at The Hawthorns, as James Lowy’s under-18s overcame category one opposition with a 2-0 victory.
West Brom had the first big chance of the evening, goalkeeper Noah Crisp denying Harry Whitwell.
Cherries hit back with Remy Rees-Dottin, Karlos Gregory and Jonny Stuttle all trying their luck.
The breakthrough was made just before half-time, Clarke rounding off a neat passing move.
And the forward netted again moments later, using his pace to latch onto a long ball and fire home.
The Baggies looked for a quick response early in the second half. Oliver Bostock found room for a shot, his effort coming back off the crossbar.
Clarke was then sent away at the other end by Rees-Dottin, but fluffed his lines as he sought a hat-trick goal.
But it mattered little as Cherries marched on.
Cherries have been drawn to face either Newcastle United or Leyton Orient away in round four, the fixture likely to be played in January.
