FORMER Canford School pupil Eddie Jack has been selected as part of England’s under-19 Cricket World Cup squad.
Fast bowler Jack, 18, has risen through the Hampshire County Cricket Club pathway system, making his full debut earlier this season.
He featured in the summer of 2023 with England U19s, taking part in the Ashes, where he picked up eight wickets, his best a 4-62 in the first youth Test at New Road.
Jack’s Hampshire debut came in the One-Day Cup against Middlesex. He would go on to pick up his first professional wickets against Nottinghamshire, finishing with figures of 2-19 from nine overs.
More recently, the paceman claimed a five-wicket haul for England U19 against Bangladesh, ending the quadrangular tournament in India as England’s leading wicket taker.
The U19 World Cup takes place in South Africa in January, England in a group with the hosts, Scotland and West Indies.
