DORSET boxer Ruby White made a winning youth debut, topping the podium at the England Championships in Rotherham.
Taking place at the Magna Science Adventure Centre, Sturminster Newton’s White was victorious in the female, youth under-48kg category.
The teenager defeated Darcy Munday of Wearmouth in the final, 4-1 by split decision.
"The 2024 National Youth Championships have been an outstanding showcase of the talent and dedication within England's amateur boxing community," said Jerome Pels, CEO of England Boxing.
"We are immensely proud of all the athletes who competed in Rotherham, and their commitment to the sport has been truly inspiring."
‘Pocket Rocket’ White, of Sturminster ABC, also defeated Mya Das in Rotherham, to extend her impressive unbeaten amateur boxing record.
She has taken a host of trophies, notably the European Junior Championships.
The 17-year-old is eyeing up a spot at the Olympics in future, with BBC quoting her coach Shaun Weeks as saying: "There's nothing in Europe to touch her. She's unbeaten in 35 contests.
"She's sharp, entertaining, quick and has a lot of stoppage wins.
"She's always been small. Everyone thinks she's so cute but in the ring she turns into a demon."
