WIMBORNE Town restored control of top spot in the Southern League Division One South with a comfortable 3-1 win away at Mousehole, stretching their lead to four points.
Tim Sills’ Magpies became just the third side to claim victory at Mousehole’s Trungle Parc this season courtesy of goals from Matty Burrows, Cam Munn, and Billy Walker.
A tight first half ended level, with both sides getting on the scoresheet just before the half-time whistle.
Sam Griffin’s ball across the face of goal enabled Burrows to break the deadlock, but just two minutes later the hosts had equalised through Kyle Fraser.
However, Magpies would restore their lead shortly after the break.
Mousehole did not properly clear their lines at a corner, allowing Munn to smash home his third league goal in three games.
Another corner five minutes later would produce Wimborne’s third, Walker steering home in a crowded box.
A red card for Mousehole’s Morgan Lewis for an apparent stamp 11 minutes from time all but confirmed the result.
Magpies: Flitney; Hanger, Walker, Jackson, Scorey; Neale, Morgan, Munn (Hoey, 80); Burrows, Lovell (Baker, 72), Griffin (Carmichael, 87).
Unused subs: Beale, Cocklin.
