WIMBORNE Town boss Tim Sills feels that confidence is flowing through his side as they reach the end of their promotion push, but called upon his team to maintain their high standards.
Magpies have garnered a strong run of form at the perfect time, leading the Southern League Division One South by four points with eight games remaining.
Sills’ charges have lost just once in the league since the turn of the year, picking up 23 points from the last 30 available.
Their title charge continues this weekend when they visit Malvern tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
Asked if he felt his side had found the perfect form at the business end of the season, Sills told the Daily Echo: “I think other than maybe one or two maybe little blips where we struggled for maybe two or three games this season, our form has been decent.
“It's had to be.
“You look at the chasing pack and how good their form has been all season as well, it drives us on.
“We know - I've said it before - with us, the standards we set ourselves and the quality we've got in the changing room, that if we're on song, then no one should be beating us in this league.
“That's what we've got to maintain now and build on for the last eight games.”
Based in Worcestershire, Malvern have enjoyed a productive first season back in the eighth tier, sitting 12th with 35 points from 25 games.
Magpies will have to contend with a round-trip of roughly 280 miles which will take three hours, with Malvern also playing on a 3G pitch.
“You definitely need to prepare as well as possible,” continued Sills.
“It can work one of two ways.
“Sometimes it can galvanise you a little bit.
“But Malvern have had a solid first season.
“They're in really good form at the moment.
“I’ve spoken to people, they’re really well supported quite well backed as well.
“So we're expecting a really tough game.
“You're on a 3G, which is a surface that we are used to training on, but not obviously playing games on.
“So with the length of journey as well, it's always going to add to how difficult it is to go there.
“But our away form is really good at the moment.
“We'll be confident we can carry that on.”
